MILK AND DIFFERENT TYPES OF MILK

In this post you will learn the different types of milk, discussed below in very detail.

Types of Milk Sterilized milk:
It is natural milk, whole, skimmed or semi-skimmed, submitted after its packaging to a heating process in such conditions of temperature and time that ensures the destruction of microorganisms and the inactivity of their resistance forms. Due to this treatment it loses some nutrients. It has the longest shelf life.

Types of Milk whole UHT milk or Ultra-high-temperature Milk:  It is natural, whole, skimmed or semi-skimmed milk. It is subjected to a very high temperature heating process in a minimum period of time, which also ensures the destruction of microorganisms. Later it is packed in aseptic conditions. With the original closed container it can be kept for several months.

Types of Milk Pasteurized milk: It is natural, whole, skimmed or semi-skimmed milk. It is subjected to a heating process that uses milder temperatures than the previous one but for a longer period of time, which also ensures the destruction of microorganisms. It must be kept in the refrigerator and consumed, after packaging, within a period not exceeding four days, once purchased.

Types of Milk;Concentrated Milk: Concentrated milk is understood to be natural, whole, skimmed or semi-skimmed milk, pasteurized and deprived of its share of constitution water. Cold storage lasts up to five days after packaging.

Types of Milk Evaporated Milk: It is sterilized cow's milk deprived of part of constitution water. its conservation is of long duration.

Types of Milk, Milk powder; It is a powdery dry product that is obtained by dehydration of partially skimmed whole milk, subjected to a thermal treatment equivalent, at least, to pasteurization and carried out in a liquid state before or during the manufacturing process.

Types of Milk Condensed Milk: It is a product that is obtained by partial elimination of the constitution water from natural, whole, semi-skimmed or skimmed milk, subjected to an adequate heat treatment and preserved by means of sugar. Its conservation is long-lasting and it is creamy.

TIPS FOR MILK PURCHASE:
Attention to advertising claims with expressions mentioning its preventive, therapeutic and healing properties ("it has everything" "enriched with vitamins", "bone formation", "reduction of osteoporosis", etc.), since according to the Food labeling regulations must not allude to these properties.

Furthermore, there are no reasons to add calcium to milk that is inherently rich in this mineral. As for the addiction of vitamins A and D it is not necessary either; it is preferable to take these vitamins in products that contain it naturally.
